Parents refuse to reveal their childs gender

A set of Swedish parents have refused to let anyone know what gender their child is.

Pop’s parents [see footnote], both 24, made a decision when their baby was born to keep Pop’s sex a secret. Aside from a select few – those who have changed the child’s diaper – nobody knows Pop’s gender; if anyone enquires, Pop’s parents simply say they don’t disclose this information.

In an interview with newspaper Svenska Dagbladet in March, the parents were quoted saying their decision was rooted in the feminist philosophy that gender is a social construction.

“We want Pop to grow up more freely and avoid being forced into a specific gender mould from the outset,” Pop’s mother said. “It's cruel to bring a child into the world with a blue or pink stamp on their forehead.”

The child's parents said so long as they keep Pop’s gender a secret, he or she will be able to avoid preconceived notions of how people should be treated if male or female.

Pop's wardrobe includes everything from dresses to trousers and Pop's hairstyle changes on a regular basis. And Pop usually decides how Pop is going to dress on a given morning.

I think Pop has strange parents. Poor Pop

Judge sends six year old to traffic school

A six year old is being sent to traffic school because he refused to wear his seatbelt.

Daniel resists wearing a seat belt in her van.

"He took off his buckle twice. I pulled over one time and put it on him, then he took it off again right when he passed by the cop," Peet said.

A Los Lunas police officer gave Peet a ticket because of Daniel's offense. She said she went to the Valencia County courthouse and pleaded not guilty."

He agreed with me because I was wearing my buckle," Peet said. "It was my son who wasn't wearing the buckle.

"The judge waived the ticket but demanded to see Daniel in the courtroom."

The judge talked to him and told him if he would keep doing this he would have to come back to the judge and the judge would see what he could do from there," Peet said.Daniel will also have to go to a special class with the state school of driving.

I wonder how much the special driving school is going to cost taxpayers. I think that perhaps the mother should attend parenting classes also so she can learn how to make her child do something. How is she going to make him go to school when he's a teen and wants to quit or make him be home by curfew if she can't even make him wear a seat belt without a judge telling him that he has to.

I've never been a fan of discipline through the judicial system instead of through the parents disciplining through appropriate consequences at home. Hopefully this is the last our judicial system sees of Daniel but if his mother doesn't learn how to control him at the age of six I suspect it will only get worse as he gets older and is able to get into deeper trouble.

Third grader brings grenade to school for show and tell

A third grade student caused quite a scare in his elementary classroom when he brought a grenade to school.

The grenade brought in by a third grader turned out to be a simple paperweight, although Columbus police had to be called to make certain.

"It wasn't anything secretive; the student didn't try to sneak it in," said district spokesman Lee Cole. "It's a teachable moment to make sure parents know what their kids are bringing to school."

The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch said Thursday the student brought the paperweight in because his class was studying World War II, and won't be punished for the uproar.

I guess it's too much for us to say that parents should know what their kids are doing.

Couple tries to trade kids for a bird

A couple in Louisiana was caught trying to trade two kids (who were not theirs) for a cockatoo and $175.

Donna Greenwell, who babysits the 5-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl, is also charged in the deal, which was negotiated via telephone.

Paul J. Romero, 46, and Brandy Lynn Romero, 27, had been trying unsuccessfully for years to start a family.

Police say Greenwell offered the kids up for $2000, but when the Romeros couldn't meet the price, a deal was sealed with the pet cockatoo (and $175 for legal fees.)

The kids are now in state custody. Their father has expressed interest in getting custody. The mom is reportedly in Texas.

Why did the mother have these random people watching these kids and why did the father not know about it? Poor kids. I hope they get to live with someone that values them more than a bird.

Baby calls 911 -- sends Dad to jail

An eleven month old in Canada called 911 on his Dad's cell phone. When officers arrived to investigate they found a Marijuana farm at the home and arrested the babies father.

The incident occurred Friday morning in the town of White Rock, several miles north of the U.S. border, The Province newspaper in Vancouver reported Wednesday.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police received an emergency call, but the line went dead. The RCMP automatically responds to hang-up calls, and when officers arrived at the home, they found a marijuana farm of 500 plants, the report said.

The unidentified 29-year-old father was arrested, and the child was placed in the custody of the provincial Ministry of Children and Family Development, which later located the mother, police said. The child's mother did not live at the residence.

Note to stupid criminals. Do not program your cell phone to automatically call 911.

Mr. Policeman, Mommy is under the bed

When police entered a house in Florida looking for a woman with outstanding warrants they were told she was not home by the adults in the household. However, the woman's daughter informed the police that her Mommy was under the bed.

Officers said two men and a woman at the house told officers that the woman had left, but then a 4-year old child approached one of the officers and revealed that the woman was under a bed.

Officers found the woman exactly where the child said she would be.

Sounds like she's an outstanding mother.

This is why you lock up your guns

A FOUR year old in Ohio got mad at his babysitter after he accidentally stepped on his foot and shot him with a pellet gun.

Witnesses told police the 4-year-old retrieved the shotgun from a bedroom closet and shot Beavers. Police said the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot.

Beavers was hospitalized with minor pellet wounds to his arm and side.

Wait, the four year old got mad, went into the closet and got a shotgun and shot his babysitter. I'm not sure what's worse, that the four year old thought that what you do when you're mad at someone is to shoot them or that he was able to go into a closet and get a shotgun by himself.

Gun locks people!

Chuck E Cheese is a dangerous dangerous place

Picture Chuck E Cheese and you think of a place full of screaming kids, germs and pizza, not a place that needs armed guards.

Chuck E Cheese's around the country have often turned into dangerous places.

In Brookfield, Wis., no restaurant has triggered more calls to the police department since last year than Chuck E. Cheese's.

Officers have been called to break up 12 fights, some of them physical, at the child-oriented pizza parlor since January 2007. The biggest melee broke out in April, when an uninvited adult disrupted a child's birthday party. Seven officers arrived and found as many as 40 people knocking over chairs and yelling in front of the restaurant's music stage, where a robotic singing chicken and the chain's namesake mouse perform.

In several cities police officers report that they make more calls to Chuck E Cheese than to local restaurants and even bars.

Law-enforcement officials say alcohol, loud noise, thick crowds and the high emotions of children's birthday parties make the restaurants more prone to disputes than other family entertainment venues.

So basically, drunk people combined with undisciplined kids equals an environment that's prone to problems.

I always knew there was a reason I hated that place.

This makes her a bad mom.

A mother in Detroit was arrested because she held a a sex party at her house that included nineteen prostitutes and two sixteen year old girls one of which was her daughter.

The woman charged $15 per person for admittance to her party with extra being charged for sex. The two teen girls were found dancing nude when officers arrived.

Most of the prostitutes and johns were ticketed and released. The girl's mother was arrested, as were three men involved in operating the party, Evans said. All face charges of operating a house of illegal occupation, and the mother likely will face other charges.

Police said they confiscated three handguns and marijuana, Ecstasy pills and heroin, along with several hundred dollars in cash.

Lets hope she gets a long jail sentence. Teaching your sixteen year old daughter and her friend how to be a prostitute by hosting a drug and sex party should get you several years in jail.
